My newest design is a hat to coordinate with my very first design! As its name implies, Sea Smoke Hat is the perfect mate to Sea Smoke Scarf (my most popular pattern to date). It is also knit in the amazing Berroco Flicker – light, lofty alpaca with a little sparkle. I just love the vintage look of this! And it’s warm too! I feel like I am transported back to a windy Chicago night in the 1920’s, as my beau and I duck into the local speak easy!
The gorgeous model above is my beautiful daughter, Pam. To prove it is appropriate for all ages, here is a picture of it on me. But you can see why I chose her pictures for the pattern!
Maureen, your rendering of story to sock is a tour de force! Have you posted your patterns on Christie’s FB page…or contacted one or more of her fan clubs? This could be a real life cross-over of Agatha Christie’s Book Club meets Agatha Christie’s Knitters. I know that you have practically a life’s work of Hercule stories to plumb, but if you want a slight change of pace, I suggest Ms. Marple’s hats. The most recent three BBC series actresses who portrayed her hardly ever appeared in an outdoors’ scene without one…and although they were mostly cloth hats, the Rumplestiltskinian power of the needle to turn yarn into “cloth” is not to be denied. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_Marple.
Rosie – I think you meant to post this on the post about Maureen Foulds.
