My newest pattern – Joe’s Sweater – was designed with men’s standard measurements. I knit the sample as a gift for my son, Joe. His much smaller wife surprised me by wanting to wear the sweater too. She styled it with a french tuck and rolled sleeves and I think she looks great in it too!

Of course you can always adjust a men’s size pattern to fit standard women’s proportions by shortening the body and arm lengths for a given chest size. In a raglan sweater, like this one, you can get away with the deeper armhole, but if you want a less casual fit you can remove some of the plainĀ (non-decreasing) rounds in the yoke to shorten that too.
Here’s an example one of my testers knit in a men’s size small with shortened lengths.
I think Joe’s Sweater is a classic, timeless sweater for both men and women! Read more about it on the pattern page HERE.
